How are Dire Wolf Guardian Assistance Dogs Chosen?

Working closely with Dire Wolf Project breeders, Dire Wolf Guardian Assistance dogs are specially chosen from birth.  In each American Alsatian litter, a very special puppy is kept to further the Dire Wolf Project in health, temperament and Dire Wolf conformation.  This puppy will ultimately go on to bring the next generation of dogs that will shape the breed toward its future goals.  Each puppy chosen for the Dire Wolf Project breeding program is then exclusively assessed for their Dire Wolf Guardian Assistance dog potential.  If they meet the strict criteria for initial assistance dog training, they will officially enter into the Dire Wolf Guardian Assistance dog program.

Each puppy that enters the Dire Wolf Guardian Assistance dog program is the very best of the American Alsatian breed.  Each puppy must meet all of the initial specifications for breeding as well as meet all of the initial specifications for assistance dog work.  As they grow and begin their initial training by certified Dire Wolf Guardian puppy raisers, their progress is constantly assessed for their uniquely natural assistance dog talents.  After the puppy reaches twelve months old and passes all health testing requirements, they will return to the Dire Wolf Project breeders.  Once the potential Dire Wolf Guardian Assistance Dog reaches 18 months of age, they can fully enter their formal Dire Wolf Guardian Assistance dog training.  Upon obtaining their Winged Wolf certification, they will be matched with a potential candidate in need based on the training of the Dire Wolf Guardian Assistance dog and the individual needs of the candidate.
