The companion degree is awarded to American Alsatians that demonstrate their level of reliability and security in real life situations. Attaining this degree should not be mistaken as all encompassing for all dogs. This important degree is regarded as an academic accomplishment for both handler and dog. Foundation to most other degree programs, it is also designed to allow the dog and handler to progress at their own pace.
